We look forward to welcoming you to Boston, Massachusetts, October 6 to 9. Here’s what you need to know to get ready.
Before You Leave
Hotel and travel
Visit our Hotel and Travel Information page for details on planning your trip, including options for transportation between the airport, convention center, and official CHEST hotels.
Several hotels throughout Boston are engaged in collective bargaining negotiations. While we hope equitable agreements are reached before our arrival, some locations may likely be under a strike while we are there. We are continually communicating with the area hotels, who are working diligently to avoid service disruptions. However, there are some places where you might need to exercise added patience, such as:
- Longer than usual times at check-in
- Changes in hours of service for hotel amenities
- Slower service for requests such as housekeeping
Please speak with hotel staff regarding any concerns.
Update 10/4 at 9 am ET: Hotel workers at Marriott, Omni, and Hilton hotels in the Seaport area of Boston have indicated their intentions to begin picketing on Saturday, October 5, at 7 am.
Keep in mind that meeting rooms at the convention center may be cool, so light layers are always a good idea. And be sure to bring comfortable walking shoes!
Plus, read our blog on dining and leisure activities worth exploring while you’re in Boston.
CHEST 2024 app
Start adding sessions of interest to your meeting schedule by downloading the CHEST Events app on your mobile device. Use the app to browse the educational program, bookmark sessions or speakers, and connect with other attendees.
When You Arrive On-Site
Registration
Advance registration is closed, but you may still register for the meeting on-site in Boston.
On-site registration for the meeting, ticketed sessions, and On Demand Pass will be available at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center. Already registered? You can pick up your badge at the convention center, as well as the Omni Boston Hotel Seaport and The Westin Boston Seaport District. Registration hours are available in the app. Badges are required for all educational sessions and CHEST 2024 social events.
To ensure that you can maximize your meeting experience, we encourage you to visit Registration as early as possible and leave yourself a cushion before the first session that you plan to attend that day.
If you registered in advance as part of a group, contact your group leader for information on how to pick up your registration materials. For other questions related to group registration, contact the CHEST Help Team.
Ticketed sessions
We’re pleased to offer several additional learning opportunities in Boston, including:
- Pre-meeting courses on Saturday, October 5
- Simulation sessions
- Problem-based learning sessions
- Meet the Professor sessions
You can purchase tickets for these sessions on-site in Boston at the registration desks.
You can also add an On Demand Pass to your registration for post-meeting access to session slides with audio voice-over. This way, if you miss a session in person, you can catch up later.
Security procedures
Upon entering the convention center, you will need to pass through a metal detector and security screening area. While we expect that this process will be efficient, please ensure you allow yourself enough time to go through security prior to your first event of the day.
Amenities
We want you to have a comfortable, pleasant CHEST 2024 experience. Amenities and services available at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center include lactation rooms, scooter and wheelchair rentals, a prayer room, and more. Visit the Amenities & Hours page in the app for further details.
Code of Conduct
