Where do you work?
I am currently working at the South Texas Veterans Health Care System, Audie L. Murphy, in San Antonio, Texas, and at the University of Texas Health San Antonio as a pulmonary and critical care physician.
What are your research interests and how does this apply to your position within the Networks?
My training in infectious diseases and pulmonary and critical care triggered my interest in pulmonary infections affecting the critically ill.
How did you become interested and involved in the Chest Infections and Disaster Response Network?
I was a first-year fellow when I attended my first CHEST Annual Meeting in San Francisco, California, in October 2000. At that CHEST meeting, I was captivated by the people, the science, and the love, and since then, I have not missed a single year. I immediately connected with the Chest Infections Network, and throughout these years, I have met wonderful colleagues that I consider my friends! I really encourage you to take a similar pathway and take full advantage of what CHEST has to offer!
