“You Make the Call: Which ILD Does This Patient Have and How Should It Be Managed?” invites learners into the pulmonologist's office. They will navigate through three short cases (~15 minutes each) working up the diagnosis for patients Joseph, Paul, and Susie. Two longer cases (approximately 30 minutes) introduce you to John and Ginger, and their more complicated diagnosis and management. Learners will have opportunities to give their diagnosis and treatment options as more information is revealed by each patient and their exams and tests. Dr. Adams will guide you through each case with a thorough explanation of best practices for each disease state.

Course Objectives

Differentiate and correctly evaluate and diagnose patients with IPF, connective tissue disease (CTD)-related ILD, hypersensitivity pneumonitis, and other forms of ILD.
Apply multidisciplinary and interprofessional strategies to evaluate and manage patients with various forms of ILD.
Develop strategies to manage patients with CTD-ILD and IPF with nonpharmacological and pharmaceutical therapy.

Physician Credit

The American College of Chest Physicians is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

The American College of Chest Physicians designates this live activity for a maximum of 1.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Nursing Credit

Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider Number 16433, for 1.5 contact hours.

Maintenance of Certification Statement

Successful completion of this CME activity enables the participant to earn up to 1.5 MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC points.

Upon successful completion of this course, CHEST will submit your completion data to ABIM via ACCME's Program and Activity Reporting System (PARS) for MOC points. Please allow 3-5 business days after claiming for points to be reflected on your ABIM record.
