Helping Your Patients Understand CTEPH and PAH
March 19, 2018
Chronic Thromboembolic Pulmonary Hypertension (CTEPH) and Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH) can be hard to diagnose, and all patients have questions about their diagnosis, treatment, or how their disease or condition will affect their lifestyle. The CHEST Foundation has partnered with phaware® global association to provide tools on CTEPH and PAH that you and your patients can use to better your conversations and eventually lead to better patient outcomes. Ultimately, having better conversations with your patients and engaging patients in their treatment and management, will lead to better treatment adherence and outcomes.
The CHEST Foundation's resources include a CTEPH and PAH fact sheet, mythbusters about the disease, a patient diagnosis and treatment checklist, a shortness of breath checklist for doctors, and more. Below are a few key facts on CTEPH to share with your patients. For more patient resources, like a patient/doctor checklist, go to chestfoundation.org/cteph or chestfoundation.org/pah.
