2008 ACCP Grassroots Advocates of the Year
Robert De Marco, MD, FCCP

Dr. De Marco is the ACCP Governor for Ohio and an ACCP Grassroots Advocate. Highlights of his advocacy efforts in 2007-2008 include: participation in the 2008 ACCP Capitol Hill Caucus; successfully persuading his Representative to cosponsor two pieces of legislation important to chest medicine; and successfully encouraging his colleagues in Ohio to participate in ACCP grassroots advocacy. Dr. De Marco is one of five ACCP Governors currently participating in the ACCP "First-at-Home" Grassroots Advocacy Pilot Project.

David R. Kull, MPH

Mr. Kull is an ACCP Grassroots Advocate and attended the 2008 ACCP Capitol Hill Caucus.
This year, he successfully organized a site visit with Representative Michael Capuano (D-MA-8) at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) in Boston, Massachusettes. Mr. Kull, along with BIDMC staff, addressed the priority ACCP legislative issues with the Congressman and thanked him for his support for stopping Medicare physician payment cuts and creating national Medicare coverage for pulmonary rehabilitation.
