CHEST 2010 Call for Topics

Make CHEST 2010 a valuable learning experience by submitting ideas for session topics and faculty. The Scientific Program Committee is particularly interested in the topics below but will consider all suggestions related to pulmonary, critical care, and sleep medicine.
- Technology and Biotechnology
eg, Electronic health-care records, minimally invasive techniques and technology, telemedicine, polymerase chain reaction-based array techniques, robotics in surgery or ICU settings, etc
- International Perspectives
ie, Topics involving an international panel presenting different perspectives, such as chronic asthma treatment in the United States vs Canada vs other countries
- Critical Care Management
eg, Mechanical ventilation strategies, hospital-acquired infections, airway management, ultrasonography, ARDS, etc
- Sleep Medicine Management
eg, Obstructive sleep apnea, legal concerns for sleep physicians, polysomnography, preparing for a career change into sleep medicine, etc
- The Health-care System and Its Impact on Clinical Medicine
ie, Discussions of the current state of health-care systems vs hypothetical cases and the impact of clinical medicine
- Team-Based Health-care Presentations
eg, Communication strategies that have improved patient care, presented from the perspective of a physician, nurse, nurse practitioner, respiratory therapist, pharmacist, etc
- Role of Clinical Data in Practice
eg, Data uses in practice, hospitals, and systems, impact upon patient care and efficiencies, etc
